Getting Oriented on the New Site

Welcome to the new web home of the Southern California Christians in Science (SCCS).  This new site offers a number of features not found on our old site. Read on to learn about these features and how to use them.

Our home page includes sections showing upcoming events, recent activity on the site, and contact information for the local chapter's officers.

The home page also shows a menu for accessing various site features, including   a directory of group members, discussion forums, and any photos our members have uploaded to our gallery.  Non-members can view some of these features, but to participate or contribute you must be a registered member. If you haven't already done so, please take a moment to register with the ASA and join our chapter (it's free).

Registration allows you to take advantage of other features of this new site, including automatic notifications: This feature makes it easy to stay informed of new events, or of replies to your forum posts. You can also use your profile page to share your affiliations, background, interests, and other biographical information with your fellow members.

This site also features an event registration feature that makes it easy to RSVP for upcoming events.

Lastly, our new home is fully integrated with the ASA site, which makes it much easier for visitors and members to stay informed about ASA events and news.

As your SCCS Webmaster, I'm excited about the features our new web home provides, and I hope you are, too. Remember to register and join the SCCS if you haven't already, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about the new site.

Kind regards,

Jason Hine, SCCS Webmaster
