Local Chapter: Philadelphia
We are a local group of Christians in the sciences and engineering, living in the greater Delaware Valley (eastern PA, south Jersey, and Delaware). After some years of dormancy, we are trying to plan a few events in our region each year. One of our current interests is to be a resource for students studying in the many universities and colleges in our region.

Mark D. Andrake wrote on the Local Chapter: Philadelphia wall: Philadelphia Chapter Watch Party for ASA 2023 Winter Symposium Saturday, January 28, 2023 Genetic Engineering. Climate Change. Artificial Intelligence. Vaccines. Any one of these contemporary topics involves science and scientists. Many of these scientists are faithful members of our congregations. How do these church members experience discussions within their faith communities when nonscientists attempt to understand these issues from their faith perspective? And how can churches better engage Christians who are scientists in serving the church? You are cordially invited to join members of New Life Presbyterian Church, Glenside to watch together the 2023 ASA Winter Symposium on the topic of "Scientists and the Church". Featured speakers will be: Walter Kim, President, National Association of Evangelicals, and Jessica Moerman, Vice President of Science and Policy, Evangelical Environmental Network. When: Saturday, January 28, beginning 12:30 PM (Symposium starts at 1:00) through 3:30 PM, approximately. Where: New Life Church, 467 N. Easton Rd., Glenside PA 19038 All are welcome, whether ASA members, their guests, or interested parties. Refreshments will be served. No charge for the event but donations will be happily accepted. RSVP to kurtawood@gmail.com (preferred to assist with refreshment planning).
