Interested in learning more about the vocational journeys of professionals in different career stages? Please join us Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 6:30 pm in the Chairman's Room at the Ken Olsen Science Center, Gordon College to hear a panel discussion on Faith & Vocation.

The panel will include Tracy Balboni, Radiation Oncologist at the Dana Farber Cancer Center; Julia Carrier, Senior Vice President at Eliquent Life Sciences; Ravi Ravichandran, VP, CTO, Board Member at BAE Systems, Inc.; and will be moderated by Karma Carrier, Director of Strategic Services at Meso Scale Discovery. The panel discussion be followed by light refreshments.

Tracy Balboni is a radiation oncologist who focuses on the multidisciplinary management of cancer patients with metastatic disease, and clinically serves within the Spine Tumor Program, the Stereotactic Bone Radiotherapy Program, and within the Supportive and Palliative Radiation Oncology Service at the Dana-Farber/Brigham Cancer Center. She currently serves as Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and as Program Director for the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program. She holds degrees from Stanford University, Harvard Medical School, and the Harvard School of Public Health. She is dually boarded in radiation oncology and palliative medicine. Tracy's primary research interests are located at the intersection of oncology, palliative care, and the role of spirituality in the experience of life-threatening illness.

Julia Carrier is a principal consultant and a Sr. VP leading the nonclinical consulting team at a global firm named Eliquent Life Sciences. Dr. Carrier holds a B.S. in Medicinal Chemistry from Peking University, a Ph.D. in Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis from Emory University and completed her postdoctoral studies at Harvard University. She is an American Board-Certified Toxicologist and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Ravi Ravichandran is Vice President, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), for the Intelligence & Security (I&S) sector of BAE Systems, Inc. I&S is comprised of 6,000 employees across the United States and abroad with annual revenues of $2.0 billion. I&S provides large-scale systems engineering, integration, and sustainment services for Defense and Intelligence. As CTO, he drives the development, integration, and transition of next-generation solutions that advance the company’s current programs and future technology pursuits.

Ravi’s work has resulted in patents, featured in books and academic journals. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and master’s and doctoral degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), all in Electrical Engineering. He also serves on Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering Department Advisory Committee at RPI and on the Board of Trustees at Boston Trinity Academy. Ravi and Barbara live in Winchester MA. Two of their children are graduates of Gordon College where he also serves on the Board of Trustees.

Karma Carrier received his PhD in molecular virology from the University of British Columbia. His Post-doctoral Fellowship was in the area of viral-oncology at the Emory University School of Medicine. Since then, he has spent over 20 years working in the Biotech industry in a variety of scientific and business development roles. He was the founder and CEO of Biotranscribe, a company which used artificial intelligence (A.I.) to translate clinical research studies between languages. In addition, he is the founder of GC Science an online ministry for Christians, who love science. Currently he works as the director of biomarker testing for Meso Scale Discovery (MSD), which uses biomarker assay technology to help research groups understand disease progression as well as speed up drug and vaccine development. Karma lives in the Boston area with his wife and two kids, where he serves on the board of directors for Liberty Church in Lexington as well as for the American Scientific Affiliation.
