How to read the early chapters of Genesis will be explored. Science as a way of understanding our world will be considered, along with what it means to be God’s stewards of the natural world. Additionally, the relationship between Christian faith and working in science fields will be considered.

This seminar will feature three speakers:

Tremper Longman, III, Distinguished Scholar and Professor Emeritus of Biblical Studies, Westmont College. Author of Confronting Old Testament Controversies (Baker, 2019). Presentation: “Creation and Flood: Perspectives from God's Two Books.”

Rick Lindroth, Vilas/Sorenson Distinguished Achievement Professor, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Member of the BioLogos Voices Distinguished speaker’s bureau; Member of Blackhawk Evangelical Free Church, Madison, WI.  Presentations: “Science Literacy and Science Communication in a Post-truth World,” and “Creation Care”. Rick Lindroth is Distinguished Fellow, Lumen Center, Steve and Laurel Brown Foundation.

David Buchanan, Professor animal breeding and genetics, retired Associate Dean, Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources at North Dakota State University. Member of Salem EFC, Moorhead, MN. Presentation: “Six Views on Origins.”

We will also have a panel of young science professionals answering questions about how they apply Christian faith to their work in science-related fields.
