Prayer for the 2018 ASA Annual Conference

Posted By Alice C. Linsley, Monday, July 23, 2018

Almighty and eternal God, source of all wisdom and understanding, be present with those who gather for the 2018 Annual Conference of the ASA. Guide us to perceive what is right and true and grant us the courage to pursue it. May we make your worship a higher priority than our business. May we experience your loving presence, and rejoice in godly fellowship. Help us to serve the needs of others through our diverse gifts and disciplines. May we learn afresh what it means to be “in Christ” as people of Science. As individuals and as an organization may we fulfill our calling to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Prayer for the 2017 ASA Annual Conference

Posted By Alice C. Linsley, Tuesday, July 4, 2017

Almighty God, whose pleasure it is that your servants should serve you joyfully, grant that all who gather in Colorado will find good fellowship, fruitful conversation, and renewal in their labors. May your Holy Spirit inspire those who speak and strengthen those who work behind the scenes. Continue to use the ASA and CWIS to advance science in the service of your eternal kingdom. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came into the world to save sinners. May He receive all glory, honor and power, now and forever. Amen.

Prayer for the 2016 Annual Meeting at APU

Posted By Alice C. Linsley, Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Almighty God, Lord of heaven and earth; we seek your blessing on the 2016 annual meeting of the ASA and CSCA.

May the organizers see You working on their behalf and rejoice.

May those who attend travel to and from the meeting in safety.

May all gathered there enjoy loving and respectful fellowship, remembering that their first loyalty is to You, Lord Jesus, and to the building up of your Kingdom.

May all the presenters be inspired by the Holy Spirit, ever mindful of the ministry of reconciliation to which they have been called.

May those who attend desire to know You and to communicate your holiness and your love in their homes and in their workplaces.

Grant that this time may be refreshing and encouraging to all who attend.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Amen.

Prayer for the 2015 ASA Annual Meeting

Posted By Alice C. Linsley, Wednesday, June 10, 2015

Christ's Chapel at Oral Roberts University

It is not too late to register for the ASA Annual Meeting at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK from July 24-27, 2015. This promises to be a good conference and a place to connect and reconnect.

Register by June 15 to get the early bird discount. You may view the various sessions here.

Stimulating plenary speakers include: Alister McGrath, Amos Yong, Esther Meek and Bethany Sollereder

There will be more than 50 contributed papers, dynamic fellowship, rousing volleyball games, and much more.

Here is a prayer that CWIS members might pray for the upcoming annual conference:

Almighty and eternal God, whose will it is that all should come to you through your Son Jesus Christ: Inspire our witness as people of science, that we might make known the power of his forgiveness and the hope of his resurrection.

We beseech you to be with us as we gather and as we depart. Keep us safe from all harm.

While we are together grant us grace to serve one another, to listen to one another, and to encourage one another. May we drink from the fountain of wisdom, which is your Word and Christ our Lord.

For the women who attend, we ask a special blessing. Grant opportunities for all to make some good connections and to form new friendships, and that we will grow together and share a united sense of our purpose.

Gracious Lord, you have filled the world with beauty. Open our eyes to behold your gracious hand in all your works; that we may learn to serve you and all humanity with gladness; for the sake of him through whom all things were created and are sustained, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
