Description of Presentation:

This lecture will explore the latest scientific evidence from the fossil record and genetic data to trace the evolutionary journey of humankind. It will examine the origins of the first hominids in Africa and their subsequent migrations, which led to the divergence of various species, including Neanderthals, Denisovans, Homo erectus, and ultimately modern humans. The discussion will highlight key insights from paleontology, anthropology, and genetics that illuminate the unique biological and behavioral traits of modern humans. It will also delve into the emergence of complex social behaviors, symbolic thought, and early forms of spirituality, providing a comprehensive look at what makes our species unique in the history of life on Earth.
