The
Southern California Christians in
Science local chapter of the American
Scientific Affiliation invites submissions for 20-minutes talks, posters,
or panel discussions for consideration for its 2nd annual winter day
conference. Submissions may be for a
talk, panel discussion, or book review on any topic related to the general area
of science, technology, and Christianity, although students and postdoctoral scholars
are also welcome to contribute scientific research posters based on their
laboratory research. There will be a
special session for undergraduates and beginning graduate students; instructors
teaching courses that incorporate science and religion topics are encouraged to
invite their students to submit presentations.
Submissions
should be sent to Stephen Contakes at scontakes@westmont.edu.
Please include:
1) Presenting
author or panelist’s full names, contact information (mail, phone, and email),
and, if appropriate, organization, academic rank, and job title
2) Full
names of all co-authors, and if appropriate, their ranks or titles, and institutions/organizations
3) Preference
for a poster, panel discussion, book review, or 20-minute oral presentation
4) Title
and 200-350 word abstract
Abstracts
must be received by Monday, December 9th. Authors will be notified of the acceptance
status of their papers by Friday, December 20th. Again, submissions should be sent to Stephen
Contakes at scontakes@westmont.edu.
