NewsNote | May 1, 2020

Dear Colleague,

Springtime greetings from the ASA leadership team in Topsfield.

We were delighted to have so many join us for our first-ever member assembly meetings last week! The video-recording is now available so check out the links for these excellent presentations.

While most of the staff is working remotely from home, we find ourselves busier than ever. In addition to adjusting to our new normal, we are diligently at work repositioning our business model and looking toward new, creative opportunities for enhanced member services.

Amidst our disappointment of this summer's cancelled annual meeting, we remain hopefully optimistic that God is using this COVID-19 crisis as a time for real redemptive possibilities and his purposes.

Please know that we are praying for you on a regular basis. If you have specific requests, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

In the meantime, check out this NewsNote for many notable ASA items from around the world.

Yours in Christ,

John and Vicki

We are pleased to report that we ended our fiscal year on 3/31/20 with record annual fund giving of $163,169, exceeding our goal of $160,000. Additionally, after recently implementing a planned giving program, we were grateful for several planned gifts as well. Thank you very much for your generous participation and financial support of our important work. To God be the glory!

Did you miss our April member assembly meeting?

The ASA held its first-ever online meetings on April 24 and 25, 2020. Both meetings were well attended with 100+ participants each. John Pohl, MD and Patrick Franklin, PhD spoke about the current COVID-19 pandemic from a medical and theological perspective, respectively.

ASA 2020 Postponed to 2021

Because of the current situation with COVID-19, it has become necessary to cancel our annual meeting at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego this summer.

Although we are very disappointed to miss seeing you in person, we are planning to hold an interactive "State of the ASA" virtual business meeting this July. Please continue to hold July 24 and 25 open on your calendar for this meeting. We are working on the revised program now and will post details on asa3.org and Facebook pages soon.

Our program will be rolled over to 2021, if large, public meetings are safely possible next year. We are working with Point Loma Nazarene University in hopes that we can be at their beautiful facility, tentatively July 29 – August 2 (subject to change). Additional information about ASA 2021 will be communicated as it becomes available.
