Creating New Tools to Fight an Old Foe: Cancer Immunotherapy with Alpaca Antibodies
Craig Story, ASA Fellow

With hindsight, we can now agree that it was premature for Richard Nixon to declare war on cancer in the 1970’s. In the 40-plus years since then, a number of  technologies, together with a vastly improved understanding of the immune system, have given us the first glimpses of success in fighting this ancient foe. In this talk, we will address the following questions: What is cancer? What is cancer immunotherapy? and we will also consider the implications for our Christian faith, if we consider cancer to be a necessary by-product of normal cellular behavior.
