Group Pages

The ASA Wheaton/Naperville Chapter meets at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. Founded in October, 2007 with 15 in attendance, we have grown to meetings typically in the range of 70-100, including students from local colleges. We meet 4 times a year, usually in room 145 of the new Science Center. Topics have ranged from ancient cosmology and the origins debate to stem cell therapy to Abraham Lincoln's scientific side. Come join us!

  • May 4 (Sat) at 1:00 p.m. – Chapter Field Trip to Morton Arboretum.  We will meet in the Botany lab in the Research Building for an introduction, then head out to the east side to see the effects of management in the oak woodland.  Kurt Dreisilker, the Arboretum's Manager of Natural Resources, will be our speaker and guide. His work over the past decade has resulted in abundant rebound of native biodiversity. Come and see the amazing results of good work done by humans in native systems. There will be a reasonable fee charged. Watch for details in upcoming emails.
