Looks like you're really thinking ahead!  The end of the universe is still a large unknown since Dark Energy is such a large unknown.  Will DE weaken in time, or will acceleration continue?  If it is the latter, there will be a gigantic hydrogen energy reserve that will support millions of civilizations.  The Big Crunch alternative is more formidable.
